This past Saturday was spent in Montgomery, AL visiting the zoo and the city splash pad. We had to get away and spend some time with just our family, outside the 4 walls of our house. With 3 weeks of moving, tending to sick babies, and being sick ourselves, we needed a break from the everyday routine. So we packed up a cooler, loaded up the car and headed to Montgomery for a day at the zoo. Once we arrived, we went inside and found a nice picnic area and ate our delicious lunch that we had packed. It is so great that the Montgomery Zoo allows you to bring food inside and you don't have to purchase the expensive meals that they have at the cafe'. We spent about 2 hours at the zoo, walking around and then playing on the nice playground that they have. When we got back to the car, we noticed it was still a little early and we had time to go one other place. I had discovered on the internet that the Montgomery Riverwalk has a brand new splash pad...and it was only 5 minutes away from the zoo! So we drove over to the Alabama River and found the splash pad. The kids had a great time cooling off. Mackenlee found twin boys to chase around and she had a great time! Logan loved the water spashing up from out of the ground. It would about knock him down and he loved every minute of it! I have told Brian over and over that I believe that a splash pad would make a great addition to the Demopolis Riverwalk. They are such a great place to take the kids!

With a new baby coming in December, we figured it was time to buy a new house since we were nearly busting at the seams of our other house. We were so lucky that we didn't have to search long before we found a house that we knew would work for us. God was so great to us by providing a buyer for our other house pretty much as soon as we found our new house. We will close on that contract by the 14th of August! A BIG thank you to Matt and Meredith and my mom and dad for coming over to help us move our furniture. You were such a big help and we couldn't have done it without you! The kids had a great time playing outside in the pool and the beach ball sprinkler. It was a great way to cool off on such a HOT day! We are now mostly settled in. We have a lot of renovations to do downstairs but the kids are now settled in their rooms and sleeping well at night! We love our new neighborhood and once it stops raining and the days are soooo hot, I will enjoy walking around the neighborhood with the kids. Walking outside in this heat while pregnant is not fun! So sorry that there isn't any pictures with this post. I guess I didn't take any, which is very suprising! Apparently my camera is not glued to my eye, like Brian thinks!

The 4th of July was a great weekend! It began on Friday when we had 2 of my dad's siblings over for dinner. My dad cooked ribs and they were awesome! We had a great time visiting with everyone. Saturday added even more fun when my grandmother came over, and my dad's other sister came over. That evening Brian's parents, grandparents and Matt and his family came over for catfish, fries and fireworks. The kids had a great time fishing and swimming in the lake. After we had eaten all we could, we went outside to watch the AWESOME fireworks show that my dad, Brian and Matt put on for us. They were beautiful and riveled any fireworks show that Meridian POPS concert or Demopolis fireworks show! We were all very impressed!
