Today, my sweet baby boy turns 1. I keep going back and forth between being sad and pure joy and pride! I am so thankful that he is healthy and happy and we are so proud to have him as our baby boy.
This past Saturday we celebrated his birthday with a tailgating party for the MSU/TSUN (previously known as Ole Miss) Egg Bowl. Ethan was decked out in his MSU outfit and really enjoyed his cake, and opening his presents. It took a while to figure out exactly what I wanted to do for his cake. I didn't want it to be the typical football field cake or just a football field. I wanted more contemporary. More of just the colors rather than "football". Then I saw This cake that my friend, Cat, had for her son's party. I love how it was "football" but didn't scream "football". Does that make sense? So I came up with the design and on black friday, while everyone else in the US was shopping, I was at my parents house baking his cake. I can tell you that it was a lot less stressful that being out at Toys-R-Them or at Wal-Mart. His little smash cake? Well it was a cowbell, of course! And he ate a good bit of it. We had to take the thing away from him because he would have made himself sick. He wasn't happy about that. After opening his presents and playing, he passed out.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SWEET BOY! We love you very much!
